2021 can't come soon enough, and with the new year comes new design trends. Here are 4 kitchen design trends that you will see in 2021!
1. Bold Hardware and Fixture Choices
In contemporary kitchen design, It seems like stainless steel has been the norm in knobs, handles, faucets, and fixtures. However, stainless steel has become boring and so predictable. Try adding drama, and sophistication with bold color choices such as matte black, gold, or copper. These bold colors draw attention and give a kitchen a pop of surprise and individuality.

2. High Design Lighting Fixtures
Homeowners are upping their game when it comes to interior lighting. Lighting can dramatically affect the ambiance and overall design of any home. However kitchens have been previously excluded from high design lighting fixtures, but not anymore! Replace boring track lighting with high design lighting fixtures that fit your space. Take into consideration your kitchen's ceiling height and incorporate a lighting fixture that fits the space well and provides ample light. Not only can a stunning light fixture be a focal point, but it can also fill the area with needed light to brighten your kitchen.

3. Large/Oversized Kitchen Islands
A trend that will continue to be popular in 2021 is large kitchen islands. The bigger, the better! Kitchens have become the hub of the modern home and an island provides an inviting atmosphere and much need utility which make an island in 2021 a must-have. A large island of course requires a large space, but islands can be customized to fit many different sized and shaped kitchens. Running water and a drain for a sink in your island is a nice touch, but not a necessity. An island is a no-brainer because it will provide a great area for food prep, ample base cabinet storage, a focal point, and a gathering area in your kitchen all at the same time.

4. Two-Tones Cabinets
Want to add interest to your kitchen in 2021? Two-toned cabinets are a perfect choice. You can achieve this look by selecting a base color cabinet and selecting another color for all your upper cabinets. You can also choose one color for all your base and wall cabinets while selecting another color only for your island base cabinets. Either way, two-toned is a great way to add interest and make a kitchen feel high-end. Design Tip: white is a great choice to combine with another color. A white and navy colored kitchen can add sophistication, while white and greys are a perfect color combo to create a contemporary design.
